Our History

Over the past 25 years there has been the development of many new churches in the UK. Originally known as the "House churches" these networks and families of churches have grown significantly. With their growth came a desire to see leaders trained within their locality.

Whilst recognising the work of Bible Colleges and Training Establishments other courses have emerged which have provided other expressions and methods for teaching and training leaders. Many of these emphasise the discipling aspects of training. School of Ministries developed from a vision initiated by Peter Butt, as well as from the wealth of teaching and training gifts and courses that were a part of the new church network called Cornerstone that emerged out of the church in Southampton. Over the years with the changing structures School of Ministries as part of the New Community Network came into being.

This course is birthed out of an expectation that we are to experience a revival in the nations with the recognition that we need to train and prepare men and women to reap the harvest.

The aim of the programme is to give fundamental training in all areas of Christian life and ministry. (2 Timothy 3:16 & 17). It is composed of 36 individual "Schools of Ministry", each School being a module of 10 hours teaching.
