We started the week with attendance in the region of 60+. However, this went down to around 50 because some of the students are teachers, who had to return to their schools for the start of the summer term. Students were always punctual for the classes and were willing to contribute to discussion and ask questions. There was a broad mix of ages (from 24 to 75) and a healthy balance of male and female students. Many of the students were freshers to the SoM programme and some had come from towns and villages some distance from Kampala. The teaching was interpreted into Lugandan by competent interpreters. We were impressed by the high standard of the food and accommodation.
