Peter Butt and Ian Thomson travelled to Katuba, a township on the outskirts of Lubumbashi. They were met by Pastor Joseph Kalenga and his church. This apostolic centre has planted many churches and is itself growing at an amazing rate. Over 100 leaders were present for the teaching during the day and at night the building was packed with over 500 people hungry for the presence of God and the Word of God. Later in the week they were joined by Clliff Mthembu from South Africa. Peter and Ian were the first white people to preach in this indigenous Congolese church where the worship was raw and passionate and the prayer intense. People coming to Christ, miracles and new churches are the order of the day but the hunger for teaching and training is outstanding. We left to the pleading of the Pastor to return and continue training their leaders which impacted us deeply as we seek to respond to this exciting opportunity for School of Ministries.
