We arrived in Nairobi Monday 14 April after a pleasant, uneventful journey. We spent 2 days with Clive and Mary Beckenham of Barnabas Ministries and the New Life Homes. Peter and Ann Chege who oversee the teaching, training aspect of the ministry joined us for planning and discussions for the future. We anticipate developing the Kiswahili side of the School of Ministries into several new areas during the year including venturing into Tanzania. The two schools in English will continue in Ruiru and Malindi. It was great to hear on-going stories of the development of the childrens homes, lives being saved, babies being healed and adopted, God providing resources supernaturally for the work to go on.
We flew to Malindi to initiate the Malindi School for the coastal region. We held a 3 day school on Prayer and Leadership. Irene and I along with Meleckson did the teaching. The response was encouraging as we taught from 8am until 6pm everyday. There was the usual encouragement of prophetic ministry and Irene prayed for a number of people both for healing and to move in the healing ministry. Leaders came from all over the area with equal numbers of established leaders, women leaders and young aspiring leaders. This first school was a real success and we look forward to its continuing. We had a disasterous first evening at our accommodation with noisy fans, unbearable heat, numerous biting insects and ants and lots of noise until the early hours. Fortunately we were able to move places and found a more satisfactory abode!
Sunday we were invited to speak at the central church in Malindi. Several hundred people were present as well as the regional director for the Pefa (Pentecostal Evangelistic Churches of Africa) Churches. During the meeting we must have prayed for just about everybody present at least once. As a result of our ministry he officially invited us to speak at their Annual Conference next year!
