We commenced the School of Ministry on Leadership in Khayelitsha on Tuesday. Khayelitsha is the largest african township in the Cape area, well over 1m. people living in a variety of conditions, many of them very poor. Around 40 leaders gathered for the school and we enjoyed teaching these folks who have not had the opportunity for any kind of training. Some of them are leading quite large churches with several hundred people and are looking for help and support in every area. Over the 3 days we enjoyed times of prayer and sharing as people outlined their visions in response to the challenge of the teaching. By the end of the last session there was an overwhelming response for us to return for more teaching in the future. Roman Sappula the leader of the church who hosted the school expressed his gratitude to us and requested we return regularly to support them in the work. We felt this was a very profitable time and want to continue developing this relationship.
